We have been noticing that this system is constantly failing to release files that the user has been working on causing some headaches for other Mac Users who are trying to create, move, delete, copy to, etc. I've done my research and found that this seems to be an issue with many Mac systems with SMB File Shares Windows users this natively and there are few work arounds for it at the moment.
Currently the best source I've found came from jamf. I have currently done this and am waiting to hear if this has resolved the issue or if it will continue to have problems. Not sure if others are seeing this issue but I did not see any posting on SW to help at this time.
If you have been experiencing this, what have you been doing to help get this resolved? Are you calling up Apple Care and getting them involved, is there another webpage that might help give a better answers, etc. Works fine with pure SMB on Samba 4. The issue is Apple wont address this, Microsoft say its not their issue and then something will change in a Mac OS version then breaks in the next. I have had issues with MAC smb to server OS in the past and usually comes down to ipv6 being disabled on the server.
Which is what looks like happened in some of the Beta releases that one version was Hey it's fixed and then the next one was Hey it's broke again. I wish it were that easy, but we have always set the IP6 to on and had no issues. We currently have a the rest of our iMacs running I've gotten to the point where I'm considering some of the other options from older Mac pages where Admins have told the Macs don't check anything and don't lookup the Metadata on the server just list as is.
I juts used Synology NAS.

That's kind of disheartening because I have so much hope for what these systems can help us do. I also hope for the common sense aspect that some engineers should be employing to make sure things work and handshake like they should, too. I've found that for now the reference in the post is working but I also suspect that this will crash in the near future with another update as well.
I guess for now it looks like there is no long term solution because any temporary solution will probably be broken in the next update. I'm not sure what a permanent solution is for this as buying extra software, or setting up a special server isn't a fix but a gauze wrap around an open wound, yea it works, but it's not really what's needed.

Have you tried the FQDN of the server to see if there's any difference? For me it fails with the following error message: A regular Windows Remote Desktop client doesn't have this problem. Jeroen Wiert Pluimers 1, 8 31 Anon Anon 1 3. Fantastic Thank you.
